Spring Quarter English as a Second Language Program Announced

International House English Language Institute Spring Quarter classes will be held from April 8 – May 30, 2013. Join us for the Information and Registration Fair planned for Tuesday, April 2, and Thursday, April 4, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at International House. Classes offer the opportunity to build English language skills and to increase understanding and enjoyment of life in the United States. Take the individual courses of your choice or design an intensive program by choosing multiple courses at the level appropriate for you. All courses are open to University students, international students, their family members, as well as people from the wider community. There are no prior language or test score requirements. A complete course schedule is available at http://ihouse.uchicago.edu/esl/. Please note that these courses are not part of the accredited programs of the University of Chicago.

International spouses, partners and friends are invited to attend the Spring Quarter meet and greet on Tuesday, April at 12:30 p.m. in the Main Lounge immediately prior to the Information and Registration Fair. Come and learn about programs developed to enrich the experience of international spouses and partners. A series of social, educational, and cultural activities are held throughout the year.

International House also has two upcoming professional skills courses planned in conjunction with the Graham School of Continuing Liberal and Professional Studies. These courses include an Intensive Writing Workshop scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2013 and a Professional Communication Skills course for non-native speakers planned for April 3-24, 2013. Registration information is available at http://ihouse.uchicago.edu/esl/esl_workshops.shtml.
