Restriction on Electronic Devices on Flights to U.S. and U.K. from Several Countries

Due to an apparent terrorist threat, both the U.S. and the U.K. are imposing restrictions on electronic devices that can be carried on board for flights originating in a number of countries in the Middle East and North Africa. The restrictions permit only mobile phones to be carried onboard and the U.K. is imposing restrictions on the size of phones permitted. Depending on airline rules, devices such as laptops and tablets may be stowed in checked baggage. Airlines have been given a short time-line to comply with the new restrictions and may be imposing them already.  For additional information, including the list of countries and specific cities/airports where the restrictions apply, please see the alert at the Fragomen Worldwide website
