E-Check In for Change of Status Students

If you are a student who has a pending or approved change of status application for F-1 or J-1 Student, please complete the form below and upload copies of the relevant documents.

If you don't have access to a scanner, but you have a smartphone, you can download a free app such as CamScanner for Android or iPhone. You can also take photos with your phone or computer's internal camera.

If you don't have a way to create scans of your documents, you can use library equipment or the computer/scanner at OIA during office hours.  Note that there is often a line to use the OIA computer, so it is recommended that you use your own equipment to check in and avoid delays.

Once your application is approved, please submit the following documents to OIA:

  • Change of Status approval notice w/ new I-94 indicating F-1 or J-1 status
  • I-20 or DS-2019 for you and any F-2 or J-2 dependents (if not previously provided)
Personal Information
Please enter your name as it is listed on your I-20 or DS-2019.
Please enter a 10-digit U.S. phone number where you can be reached. Do not include hyphens, dots, or dashes. Note that failure to provide a valid phone number will prevent OIA from registering your record in SEVIS, which will have a negative impact on your immigration record and cause you to be out of status.
